12/7/2011 - Police Seek Rural Break and Enter Suspects

Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers and the Brant County OPP  are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a string of rural break and enters occurring in the County of Brant in the past four months.

Since late September several daytime break and enters have occurred to residences throughout Brant County.  The common denominator in these break-ins is that all the residences were rural and the owners were away at work when the suspect(s) struck.  Items stolen tend to be electronics such as laptop computers, flat screen TVs, cameras and computers.  Also of concern is the fact that some of these break-ins have resulted in firearms being stolen.

Two of the most recent break-ins have occurred on December 2nd in close proximity to each other at McPherson School Rd and Clarke Rd.  In the McPherson School Rd break in, suspects ransacked the house, stealing two laptop computers, a camera, a stereo and Christmas presents.  In the Clarke Rd break in, the house was also ransacked; with the suspects also prying open a safe and stealing a 22 calibre pistol and ammunition.  Also taken were two laptop computers, jewellery and other electronics.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in putting a stop to these Christmas Scrooges.
